Coloured Pencil Week Is Back!
Coloured Pencil Week Is Back!
Together we will be working with warm golden tones, building soft fluffy fur and learning how to layer colour gently so everything stays natural looking.
Together we will look at pattern, structure and how to make a drawing feel solid and believable on the page. Those gorgeous patches aren’t as tricky as they look, I promise!
The elephant is all about texture and depth, wrinkled skin, strong values and how to bring a simple background in without it taking over. It’s going to look absolutely stunning.
Layering
Every drawing teaches you how to create texture that looks real.

We'll use my Global Layering Method where we work across the whole drawing, colour by colour.

We’ll look at how colours work together and why lights and darks are what take a drawing from flat to “wow.”

This is what makes everything feel solid. Once it clicks, you’ll see every drawing differently.

Everything transfers - these aren’t just for these drawings, but every one after.

Structure & Form
About ten years ago I picked up a set of coloured pencils because I desperately needed something just for me. Something that would quieten those grumbly, unkind voices in my head and make me feel like me again.
And honestly? It worked. My head went quiet, I got completely lost in it, and somewhere along the way I realised I was actually pretty good at this. Which was a bit of a surprise, given that at seventeen I was told to forget about art and I’d believed that for nearly thirty years!
Two years later I started teaching, and I haven’t stopped since. Because if picking up a pencil could do that for me, I wanted everyone to have a go 🙂
No worries at all! Every session replay goes straight into the hub so you can catch up whenever suits you. You’ll have access to everything until 8th June, so there’s plenty of time to draw at your own pace. And if you join Ignite, you keep access to all the recordings for as long as you’re a member!
All the session times are in your CPW calendar, which you’ll find in the hub as soon as you sign up. Everything is in one place so you won’t be scrambling around looking for links!
Please don’t panic! You’ll get a full materials list in advance so you can be completely prepared. That said, I’d always encourage you to draw with what you already have.
I’ll guide you through colour selections during the week and you can substitute similar shades from your own collection. You absolutely do not need to rush out and buy new pencils!
Don’t just take my word for it…
